Transport for London (TfL) is set to launch a new express bus route, the SL12, on Saturday 5 September. This new service will operate between Gants Hill and Rainham, marking an expansion of the Superloop network into the borough of Havering. The route aims to significantly reduce travel times for passengers making the journey between these two points.

Currently, a bus journey between Gants Hill and Rainham takes just over an hour. TfL anticipates that the SL12 will cut this journey time to approximately 40 to 45 minutes. The route will serve several key locations including Newbury Park, King George Hospital, East Road, Romford, Queen's Hospital, and Elm Park, before reaching Rainham Ferry Lane. It also connects with existing Superloop route SL2 at Gants Hill.
