The court heard that Scott's offending began on December 14 last year, shortly after 11pm, when he boarded a train at Victoria station. He sat near two women and began to masturbate before being removed from the train by other passengers. The following morning, Scott boarded a train travelling from Southampton to Bournemouth. He again sat near several women and masturbated. Upon arriving in Bournemouth, he entered the ladies' toilet and exposed himself to a woman. He then boarded a train to Manchester, where he blocked a young woman in her seat and masturbated. He then exposed himself to another woman and made sexual advances. As she moved away, he followed her down the train, forcing her to push past him to escape. Scott was later found passed out on the train, still exposed, and rail staff identified him as the same individual who had been in the ladies' toilet in Bournemouth.

British Transport Police arrested Scott. He told officers that his actions were accidental and that "drinking just gets the better of me sometimes", as reported by This Is Local London.

Appearing at Salisbury Crown Court on September 25, Scott was sentenced to six months imprisonment for the five counts of exposure. Detective Constable Ewen Roberts of British Transport Police stated that Scott acted "appallingly and disgustingly towards a number of women in such a short period of time, repeatedly subjecting them to horrific ordeals for his own sexual gratification." He added that there is "no place for sexual offending on the railway network, and never any excuse for the sort of behaviour Scott displayed."

The 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order prohibits Scott from sitting next to or opposite unknown women on public transport. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for a decade.
