Road crime victims in England and Wales wait months for justice, report finds

A review by the victims’ commissioner for England and Wales reveals that families and victims of road crime endure lengthy police investigations, poor communication, and inadequate support. Nearly 30,000 people were killed or seriously injured in the year to June 2025, with 25-30% of collisions involving criminal driving.
