A train driver killed in a collision north of London continued to accelerate after passing a red signal, investigators have found. The Rail Accident Investigation Branch is continuing its inquiry into the incident on June 19.

Bedford train crash: Driver sped up after red light warning
A train involved in the Bedford rail crash accelerated after the driver received a red light warning, investigators have found. The driver, who died in the collision, acknowledged the alert but the train continued to speed up before hitting a stationary train.

Driver spotted track 'kink' before Wickford derailment
A Greater Anglia train driver reported seeing a "kink" in the track moments before his train derailed near Wickford station on 14 August. On-board CCTV footage corroborated the driver's observation of a track misalignment at the same location. The Rail Accident Investigation Branch published preliminary findings into the incident today, 28 August.
