Elstree-St John's Wood tunnel upgrade to boost NW London power

National Grid is upgrading the Elstree, St John’s Wood cable tunnel to increase electricity capacity in North West London. The project involves installing approximately 60km of new 400kV cable circuit and may utilise the tunnel's existing monorail for logistics.
