Since launching in August 2016, London’s Night Tube has carried 67 million passengers, averaging 81,000 journeys per night. The service has reduced overnight travel times by around 20 minutes, supporting night workers and the capital’s economy, Transport for London said.

A photographer who documented London Underground passengers between 1992 and 1995 has released a zine of his work, showing late-night crowds before the Night Tube began in 2016. Mark McEvoy’s images, taken on Fridays and Saturdays around 11 pm, depict punks, partiers and commuters in the final years of the last train rush.
