A13 Ripple Road closed after lorry fire sends smoke across Barking

A lorry fire on the A13 Ripple Road in Barking forced the closure of both carriageways on 12 September 2024. Around 100 firefighters tackled thick smoke visible across East London, with diversions in place for hours. No injuries were reported, but delays affected bus routes.
